Atelier Africa Safaris

“Unforgettable Journeys”

“Safari” means “Journey” in Swahili, the local language in East-Africa. The word became popular in the 1930s when Ernest Hemingway traveled to Africa for a tree-month safari and came back with two best-sellers: The Green Hills of Africa and the Snows of the Kilimanjaro. Atelier Africa Safaris is specialised in creating those classic & luxury Hemingway safaris with the comforts of the 21st Century. We can bring you close to nature, wildlife, adventure and guarantee that you are hosted in places that are unparalleled in their comfort. Our Itineraries. Africa has so much to offer and we want to make sure you get the chance to explore it to the fullest. Once you made a choice on your destination we will help you combine the best wildlife areas for that season with the most amazing activities that you wish to do. We will put everything on offer to you, so you only have to say the word and we’ll book and organise the whole safari, planned to the dot.

South-Africa is a country that has so much to offer: Nature, animals, culture, oceans, good gastronomy and delicious wines! We started our journey visiting plenty of vineyards before we went to Capetown. We enjoyed beautiful roadtrips in our SUV and managed to check-off our entire wishlist! (Wishlist: wine-tastings, hikings, picknicks, Table Mountain, Kirtsenbosch, Kaap de Goede Hoop etc.) Afterwards we left off for part 2 of our trip: Johannesburg - Waterberg biosphere - Kruger- Panorama area - Swaziland - Isimangaliso & Durban. Everything was so well organised!! We drove ourselves with a rental SUV and we stayed in such beautiful lodges with very kind employees. The Elephant plains lodge (Kruger Sabi Sands) and the Makakatana Bay lodge in Isimangaliso absolutely stole our hearts! Thank you Atelier Africa for helping us out and actually listening to us. Now we can honestly say that we've seen a very large part of South-Africa (within two weeks!).

What a fantastic trip. We flew from Belgium to Nairobi where we were picked up by a driver who brought us to our first hotel Ngong House. A beautiful hotel where you can rest and acclimatize with a nice gin and tonic by the pool. The tree houses are adorable, with beautiful views and the most amazing birds. In the afternoon we visited a giraf center where you could feed and stroke these beautiful creators. The day after we left our hotel to go to the airport again where we flew with a little plane to Mombasa. From there a driver took us to our next hotel Msambweni beach house & private villa's. If there was a heaven on earth Masambweni beach house would be it. A place so tranquille with a few on the Indian ocean. The staff, the food, the pool… it was all perfect. From our hotel we went to visit a little town, we also visited Mombasa, but most of all for us it was the perfect family holiday, where we could all be together and relax. After a lovely stay of 8 days we went back to Nairobi, stayed one more day at Ngong House where we visited an elephant orphanage before we flew back to belgium

Beautiful safari & road trip on Namibia's long stretched gravel roads, stunning views of nature and wildlife, some very special places, and very friendly staff everywhere we stayed. Naming desert and Deadvlei were cool to see. The safaris were very well organised and fun, and we spotted lots of stunning wildlife, sometimes in tribes. Guide Craig in Okonjima was exceptional. Most special accomodation of our trip: the penthouse of Pelican Point Lodge - 360 views, amazing service, cool design, and delicious meals in a cosy (gezellig) atmosphere. Our itinerary has been designed with care and taking into account or wishes (diversity of activities, not only safaris) - Timo and Michele did a great job and we would recommend them immediately.
